Abstract

Background and Objective:Based on statistical diagnostic manual of mental disorders are the most common problem for people after the disaster caused, is post-traumatic stress disorder. The present study examined the prevalence of post-traumatic stress disorder and symptoms associated with children's bereavement that died in the blast gas Sarakhs –Mashhad.
 Methods:Accordingly, in the form of a descriptive and correlation study of all the children (3 to years old) died in the blast victims (n = 34) the research sample, the modes were selected. The scale of the questionnaire post-traumatic stress disorder with reliability 0.869, Scale-Revised reliability of the impact of the events with 0.842 and questionnaire Dirger grief of children and colleagues, with a reliability rate of 839/0 responded.
 Results:Statistical analysis showed that the 29.4 % of survivors were with post-traumatic stress disorder. The relationship between post-traumatic stress disorder symptoms in children and grief of victims indicated that the scale M-PTSD, with elevated symptoms of post-traumatic stress disorder, bereavement disorder in children significantly increased.
Conclusion: Increased rates of post-traumatic stress disorder in children who have lost their parents, as well as increased levels of bereavement.
