Background and Objective: Eating disorders, today is an important risk for physical and mental health of adolescents, especially girls and numerous treatments to improve patients, it is used We aimed to evaluate the effectiveness of the scheme therapy on early maladaptive schemas in patients with bulimia disorder. Methods: The population study of all girls and women with bulimia disorders in city of Shiraz in 2014. The sample size is 34 patients randomly assigned to two experimental and control groups. Grouptrapy was given for 20 sessions. The sessions were every week and each took 60 minutes . To collect data we used Young Early Maladaptive Schema Questionnaire-Short Form- and for data analysis multivariate analysis of covariance (MANCOVA) was used. Results: The results showed the mean schemas of emotional deprivation, lack of trust / abuse, defectiveness / shame score early maladaptive schemas in no significant differences were found between the two groups (p ˂0.05), which indicates the effectiveness of schema therapy. Conclusion:According to the findings, we can conclude that the schema therapeutic intervention is effective in improving symptoms in patients with bulimia disorder.
