Effectiveness of Communicative Skills Training with Vicarious Learning Approach on High School Students’ Aggression Reduction

Abstract

Background and Objective: The aim of this study was to investigate the effectiveness of communicative skills training with vicarious learning approach on high school students’ aggression reduction.
Method: The study method was quasi-experimental, carried out through pretest-posttest design with control group. The research population was high school male student mothers in Shahriar city. The sample group consist of 30 ones of mothers whom their children had  gained  maximum score in Aggression questionnaire were accessibly selected and randomly assigned to control (n=15) and experimental (n=15) groups. The experimental group participated in 8 training sessions (90 minutes weekly sessions) while the control group received no intervention. At last the post- test was applied for children. The analysis of the results was performed using the independent T test.
Results: Communication skills training to parents with learning pattern substitution reduces aggression groups were tested.
Conclusion: It indicates that communicative skills training with vicarious learning approach significantly results in reducing  total score of aggression as well as reducing the sense of aggression, thinking for aggression and aggression behavior (p<0.05).
