Abstract

Objective: This study examined the relationship psychological characteristics "math anxiety, math attitude, mathematical precision, working memory capacity" and cognitive style students' math achievement was done. Methods: This study is correlational research. The study population included all students in grade eight during the first public school secondary education in the city of Mashhad in the 94-95 school year. A sample of 333 individuals was selected based on Morgan table. Multistage cluster sampling method was used. Participants in the study were related to the field of cognitive styles and unrelated to the fields, to test attitudes to math, mathematical precision, math anxiety and working memory were completed. Findings: Showed that anxiety learn math in a negative relationship can predict the progress in mathematics, results indicate that positive attitude towards math, increasing concentration and the ability to solve mathematical problems. findings also showed that students with high working memory capacity, better performance on math problem solving than students with low working memory capacity and average in math. A significant and positive correlation between test scores and math performance is latent. The stepwise regression model showed that the variables active memory and cognitive styles of students' mathematical performance overshadowed the da
