The Effects of Pre-marriage Education on their reproductive health among Couples participating in marriage classes of Qom, 2016

Abstract

Background and Objective: pre-marriage education classes can be the founder of a successful marriage. The aim of this study was to determine the effect of pre-marriage education classes on reproductive health and sexual health of couples participating in these classes.
 
Methods: this study is Semi-experimental; it was performed before and after training and 3 months after intervention for 424 patients referring to attend marriage counseling chasses who were selected by simple random sampling. The data collection tool was a questionnaire that is used psychometric tools; validity and content validity methods were used to measure credit. After entering data, statistical tests, were used for data analysis.
 
Results: Average knowledge before study participants increased from 0.428 ± 1.40 to 0.183 ± 1.87. And about the attitude the average was from 0.380 ± 4.43 to 0.445 ± 402 increased. The mean score of knowledge and attitude of participants in the study, after educational intervention compared to before intervention significantly increased in all domains (001/0> P).

Conclusion: This study showed that education increased the knowledge and attitudes of couples participating in the classes were married. It is suggested education based on patterns of health education and the continuation of such education and holding various educational courses after marriage, marital satisfaction is a great help.
