Comparison of Depression, Anxiety and Body Image in Patients with Gender Dysphoric Disorder and Non Patients

Abstract

Background and Objective: The aim of this study was to determine differences in mood symptoms, anxiety and body image,in patient with gender dysphoria disorder and group control.
Method: In this study 28 patients with gender dysphoria disorder and 28 control group participants, the available sampling, according to demographic characteristics matched as much as possible, were selected and with structured interviews and questionnaires body image concern and DASS-21 were tested.
Results: The results revealed a significant difference in the scales of depression, anxiety and body image between the two groups. It can be claimed that people with gender dysphoric disorder suffer from Common problems. This disorder so that what remains in the mind or to lead a full sex change involves substantial consequences.
Conclusion: after considering the evidence can be claimed gender dysphoria disorder patients suffer from similar problems.
