Compare Self compassion, Cognitive Avoidance and Emotional Self-regulation in Students with and without Learning Disabilities

Abstract

Background and Objective: The students with disabilities in learning are affected by various enviromental and psychologica problems. Such problems cause cotinous disorders in the process of  learning. This study therefore considers the self-pity, cognitive avoidance and emotional self-regulation in students with and without learning disabilities was.
Method: This research is, causal - comparative. The statistical population consisted of all 12-16 year old boys Nurabad city (Delfan) were enrolled in the academic year 91-90. subjects consisted of 30 male students aged 12-16 with a learning disability ‌ Nurabad city was selected by simple random sampling. And 30 students matched in the normal manner on the basis of age, birth order and socioeconomic status – were Sympathy for collecting data from its scale, avoiding cognitive and emotional self-regulation was used. Also, was used of multivariate analysis of variance (MANOVA) for Data analysis was used.
Results: Results of multivariate analysis of variance (MANOVA) showed that The mean scores of self compassion variable (except isolation) and emotional self regulation (except change affect and negative mood) in normal students was significantly  higher  than students with learning disabilities (p>0/001). But in component (a common feature of humans and pre-cloning) of  self  compassion and variable component (the position) of  their emotional self-regulation, No differences were seen between the two groups of students. Also  in cognitive avoidance variables  mean scores in no normal student was significantly lower than students had learning disabilities
Conclusion: These results suggest that students with learning disabilities, with  high cognitive. avoidance are more likely bias in  interpersonal situations, that  makes the have a lower Social and psychosocial adjustment than normal kids. Also, due to lower self- compassion and emotional self-regulation than normal kids thus have feeling less of adequacy & thus are afoul negative emotions
