Abstract
Background and Objective: The purpose of this study was investigated the effect of autobiographical Memory Specificity Training (MEST) on depression of depressed girls. Methods: This study was semi experimental by pretest and post-test and follow-up with control group. For this purpose 24 inpatients , randomly assigned to two groups: experimental and control. These individuals were investigated by using Beck Depression inventory (1996,BDI-II) and Connor and Davidson Resilience test(2003,CD-RISC) and after implementation of Memory Specificity Training (MEST) on experimental group during 6 session both groups were studied by mentioned measurements tools. After the end of intervention, as follow-up the results , after 3 weeks was taken an exam from 2 groups again, Results: the results showed that depression scores for experimental group was significantly lower than control groups (p0/05).
Conclusion: As previous studies have demonstrated that MEST is effective in reducing depressive symptoms, the results of this study show that the enhancing of autobiographical memory specificity help to improve depressive symptoms.
