Background and Objective:The present research was done by aiming comparison of family function and parent's mental health of children with stuttering and normal children parents. Methods: This research is past incident (causal-comparative). The present research population included all parents of children with stuttering and normal children in Bojnourd city, at years of 2012-2013 A Sample of 120 parents, studied group sample 60 parents' of children with stuttering and witness group sample 60 parents of normal children, were selected by simple random sampling method. For gathering data, we used two questionnaires: 1- family function (FAD) 2- mental health (SCL-90-R). The obtaind data were analyzed by using Software SPSS 18 and MANOVA test. Results:Results of MANOVA showed meaning different between two groups in family function in components; solution, relations, manner control, in level of p< 0/01, and mental health in two groups in components; depression, anxiety, obsession, aggression, in level of p< 0/01; there is a relation between family function and mental health. Conclusion:Results research showedthat family function and mental health of children parents with stuttering is lower than normal children parents.
