Abstract [1]Background and Objective: To take into consideration that adolescence is a very critical period; and the importance of resilience concept to increase human ability in facing unpleasant events in life, it seems vital to validate the specific measuring tool and to evaluate resilience in adolescents and children. This study was conducted to assess the psychometric properties of CYRM-28 in a population of Iranian adolescents. Methods: In this descriptive study, 703 students in the 2013-14 ademic year were selected by multistage cluster random sampling.Then, they are tested by CYRM-28 (Ungar and Liebenberg) and IPFI (Springer and Philips). Convergent validity is calculated by assigning correlation coefficient among factors with CYRM-28 measure total score and divergent validity was determined through concurrent execution IPFI questionnaire. Reliability coefficients was culculated through internal consistency type and split half method. Results: Convergent validity of this scale indicated significant correlation between aspects of resilience and total score. To characterize the divergent validity of the scale, the correlation dimensions of resiliency and IPFI were used. It shows a desired correlation (P<0/01). Cronbach's alpha and split half coefficients indicated desired reliability. Conclusion: The findings obtained through this study support Iranian version of CYRM-28 validity and reliability. Furthermore, it was demonstrated that this questioner is an appropriate tool for assessing resilience among Persian language adolescents. Key words: Reliability, Resilience, Validity, Adolescence. 1.
