Gary Parent Stress Associated with Parenting Practices of Parents of Deaf and Normal Children

Abstract

Background and Objective: One of the responsibilities of community education and training, is recognition of stress for parents of deaf children and their impact on children growing up, in this way be able to provide training required for consults  and guide them in nurturing their children. This study aims to determine the relationship between parental stress and parenting style, deaf and normal children parents.
Methods: This research  is a applied study, that was done the correlational method. The sample included all students and parents of elementary students in second district of sari education office. The sample size was 3639 person in 1391- 92 academic year. The morgan table was used to select sample. The  stratified  sampling method was used in sample selection . To data gathering, the researcher used from parenting style questionnaire (PAQ). Bam lind (1373) stress index (PSI), Abiding (1967) were used. Data collected through questionnaire was analyzed by statistical software SPSS 16 by descriptive and inferential statistical methods.
Results: using Pearson correlation test showed a significant negative relationship between parental stress and parenting style authoritarian parents are deaf and normal, because of the significance level α =0.01).  The positive relationship between authoritative parenting style and a is smaller, i.e. (P=0 > parental stress levels parents of deaf children and ordinary negligence is involve , because of the α =0.01). significance level a is smaller, i.e. (P=0) >
Conclusion: In conclusion, to reduce parental stress authoritarian parenting style can be adopted for deaf children and normal.
